A bride-to-be or groom-to-be currently (at the time of entry) employed as a Nurse, Fire Fighter, Emergency Medical Technician, Law Enforcement Officer, or active duty US Military, working or living in the Hampton Roads community (Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Suffolk, Portsmouth, Hampton and Newport News, Virginia), can submit or have submitted on their behalf a written entry about their hero status and how they are deserving of this award.
One couple will be selected. One event date will be awarded. Event date will be mutually agreed upon and scheduled during the months of May-December 2022, Event to be held at the Historic de Witt Cottage (circa 1895) located at 1113 Atlantic Avenue, Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Beginning April 1, 2022, a panel of 3 judges will review the entries and select 1 mutually agreed upon winner based on a variety of factors including but not limited to occupation and the couple’s “Hero” story.
